Eileen Otis is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon. She is the author of the award-winning book Markets and Bodies: Women, Service Work and the Making of Inequality in China. Her research has been published in theAmerican Sociological Review, Politics and Society, Gender and Society, andThe American Behavioral Scientist, among other journals. She is currently working on a book about Walmart retail workers in China.
