Roundtable Discussion on Judicial Reform in China

Fu Yulin, Professor of Civil Law, Peking University

11:00am - 12:00pm | CSCC Conference Room, Perelman 418, 133 S. 36th St.

Since 2013, China's Supreme People's Court under Chief Justice Zhou Qiang has pushed forward a number of judicial reform measures that would seem, on their face, to promote judicial transparency and enhance judicial authority.  Peking University Professor Fu Yulin will lead a roundtable discussion, in Chinese, on the implementation of announced judicial reforms to date, and what the future may hold for the Supreme Court's reform program.

Fu Yulin is Professor of Civil Law at Peking University Law School in Beijing.  Her research fields include civil procedure, judicial systems, dispute settlement, and judicial method.  Prior to her teaching career, she spent more than 10 years as a judge of the Maritime Court in Wuhan.  She has visited at Tubenken University in Germany, the University of Montreal in Canada, Northeastern University in Boston, and Yale University.
