Joanna Xue

2014 Spring Semester Intern

Joanna Xue is a first year undergraduate student in the School of Arts & Science, potentially double majoring in International Relations and East Asian studies, and minoring in Urban Education. While she was born in Philadelphia and has lived in California for half of her life, she considers Shanghai - where she’s lived for seven years - to be her true home and the city that has captured her heart. She hopes to explore education and its development in China, and the obstacles migrant workers face in urban settings. Currently, she busses tables at BeijingatPenn restaurant, organizes workshops at Sayre High School, and grapples at the mastering of the Chinese language.
