Student Symposiums

The Penn Symposium on Contemporary China is an annual event organized by undergraduate students from the University of Pennsylvania. We aim to provide a unique high-level academic forum for the discussion of the political, legal, economic, and social factors shaping China and its role in the world today. Since its remarkable advancements in the late 20th century, the People’s Republic of China has become a world leader in economic growth and political influence. The Symposium reaches out to top graduate students across the U.S. to present their research on pressing contemporary issues facing China and its role in the world. In addition to providing a public forum for young scholars to share and discuss their findings, the Symposium is also a platform for prominent speakers from the business, foreign affairs, civil society, and academic sectors to share their professional insights.
