Fan Yang is a PhD student at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in children's social cognition as well as social development. She has been conducting cross-cultural research involving both American and Chinese children. In her dissertation, she hopes to combine the theories and methods of cognitive development with those of social development to investigate children's emotion understanding and development. Fan received a B.S. in Psychology and a B.L. in International Relations from Peking University in 2008, and an Ed.M. in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University in 2009.
