Yu Zeng is a Ph.D. student in Political Science. He received his M.A. from Columbia University. His main research areas are comparative politics with area interests in Chinese and American politics. His previous studies focus on elections in authoritarian regimes, IT and politics, and political participation in China. His current research is fundamentally driven by the question of under what conditions public officials are held accountable in authoritarian regimes. He is strongly interested in the mechanism of access to the principal positions in bureaucratic systems and its impact on social and economic policies.
