Jia Xue is a doctoral student in the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in studies on violence against women and children, especially intimate partner violence, dating violence, rape and policy dimensions of violence prevention. Originally from Beijing, China, she has earned her master degree of laws from Tsinghua University School of Law. Before coming to Penn, she took her internship in China’s Supreme Court and worked on Civil Protection Orders. At Penn, Jia is the president at Penn Chinese Dance Club, aiming to promote Chinese folk and classic dance culture. She and her PCDC dance group have had many Chinese dance performances on and off campus.
